Sarah Mckeand Oppelt grew up in Los Angeles falling asleep to the pitter-patter of her mom’s typewriter and never knowing anything other than being creative. After attending performing arts high school, she painted and photographed her way through college.
Sarah has lead creative vision, user experience, design and strategy—both agency and client-side for over 15 years. During these years she amassed a world of knowledge and industry experience including concept and design for cross-platform products and services, web and digital design, photo art direction, print and online advertising, branding, illustration, logo and identity design, creating foundational standards and guides, etc., all for award-winning and industry-leading companies and brands. She spent much of her early career as an interactive art director working with clients including Adobe, Nike, Hyatt, and Palm at Nurun (formally Carat Interactive). She made the move client-side to lead the interactive design team at the LVMH company Benefit Cosmetics (and even though she had to wear makeup every day, she’s still trying to perfect that art). She then went on to spend a year re-designing and architecting the beautiful lifestyle brand Serena and Lily.
Most recently she lead the product and interaction design team at One Kings Lane where she was responsible for the design and execution of the consumer website, marketing campaigns, social initiatives, ipad & iphone applications, as well as enterprise tools.
When she’s not obsessing over design and big ideas, she is creating adventures with her family and friends.
